Loaded Gyro Bagel

Ingredients:

  • 2 seedless cucumbers, grated
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 garlic clove, finely minced
  • ½ cup full fat Greek yogurt
  • 1 tsp avocado oil
  • 4 oz packaged gyro meat
  • 2 David’s Deli Plain Protein Bagels, halved and toasted
  • ¼ head iceberg lettuce, shredded
  • ½ small red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 Roma tomato, thinly sliced
  • 1 Tbsp chili garlic sauce or sriracha
  • 4 David’s Deli Plain Protein Bagels
  • Dill fronds, to garnish

Instructions:
 

  1. In a wire strainer set over a bowl, combine the cucumbers and salt. Allow to drain 5 minutes. Squeeze any remaining water out of the cucumbers.
  2. In a small bowl, stir together the cucumbers, garlic, and yogurt to create a simple tzatziki.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the avocado oil and gyro meat and cook, stirring often, until the meat is warmed through and starting to brown, 5 to 7 minutes. Remove from heat.
  4. On the bottom half of each bagel, spread an even amount of the tzatziki. Top each with iceberg lettuce, onion, tomato, and the gyro meat. Drizzle with the chili garlic sauce and garnish with dill fronds. Close the sandwiches and serve.
